Listed below you will find information about each of the projects the
Lebara Foundation runs:
1. Artificial limbs project in Sri Lanka
The Artificial Limbs project aims to provide 200 war victims in North Sri Lanka
with artificial limbs.
The project aims to provide prosthetic limbs and devices to those who do not have the financial means to pay for the artificial limbs and ensure they are emotionally and socially rehabilitated into society. Each person selected will receive an assessment, choice of appropriate orthotic limb and device, fitting and follow up services to ensure that the prosthesis is efficient and effective for the individual so that they can become more physically independent.

2. Low cost housing for internally displaced families in Sri Lanka
This project aims to construct 50 low cost houses for internally displaced families
in the north of Sri Lanka.
Several hundred families in the north of Sri Lanka have been forced to flee their homes and are living in refugee camps, while dealing with the loss of lived in the aftermath of the war. The families in most need of support have been identified and 50 houses will be built in two different settlement villages to cater for these families.
3. Education in Sri Lanka
Established in 2010, this project is run in partnership with the Italian agency, Oblati Di Maria Immacolata. The project provides educational scholarships to 300 children affected by the recent war in Sri Lanka. The scholarship helps the children with school fees and books etc.
4. Flood response in Pakistan
This project targets flood affected provinces of Khyberpakhtunkwa, Sindh, Punjab, Gilgit Baltistan and Pakistan administered Kashmir. The focus is to provide clean water, sanitation and shelter to a total of 105,000 families. The project, which commenced in 2010, is run in association with the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies in Pakistan.
5. Outreach projects for disadvantaged and displaced children in India
In January 2011 the Lebara Foundation launched multiple outreach projects in India aimed at vulnerable/disadvantaged and displaced children. Partnering with local agencies, the projects aim to provide health and education, food and nutrition, shelter and safe drinking water and sanitation to over 4,000 children across India.
6. Lebara Home Project
The Lebara Foundation intends to start a project in India with an estimated budget of 10 million pounds.
The project is building a successful model of community based care. This innovative project has the overall objective of reducing poverty and improving the health of poor and vulnerable children/families.
We aim to achieve this through community led initiatives. More specifically the programme aims to increase access to education for the vulnerable children as well as boost household incomes, promote food security and improve health for vulnerable communities in remote villages in and around Tamil Nadu. This programme is to run over a number of years.
